Delivery Driver’s Helper

WALTER AND JACKSON INC, a family owned and operated building materials distributor, has an IMMEDIATE need for a Delivery Driver’s Helper.

Assisting drivers in all tasks related to the delivery of building materials.

They will help company drivers deliver company products to customers in a courteous manner ensuring an unparalleled customer experience.

Must be able to carefully load and unload large and heavy products including windows and doors to and from truck by hand. This is NOT tail gate delivery. Products are delivered to the location on site as direct by the customer.

Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

Must have a verifiable, first-rate work history.

Ability to work well independently or in a team environment.

Ability to work without direction.

Ability to adapt to a changing work environment. Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

This position will require working indoors in unconditioned spaces and outdoors in all types of weather.

Excellent customer service skills

Excellent English language verbal and written communication skills

Willing to follow all occupational safety rules and regulations. This is a safety sensitive position.

Ability to reach, bend, stretch, lift, twist, climb, stoop, balance and crouch as needed.

Must be physically capable of pushing, pulling, and lift up to 100 pounds consistently, with or without the assistance of a dolly or cart.

Must be able to travel over uneven and or slippery surfaces to place materials at locations as designated by the customer.

Must be willing to keep clean the interior of both the cab and cargo area of the trucks.

Day range:

Monday – Friday, typical day is 6am-4pm, approx. 9-10 hours a day (Overtime paid after 40hrs. worked). No overnight runs.
